The Barton programme
Clear steps. Strong foundations.
Reading Works uses the Barton Reading & Spelling System, a structured, multisensory, phonics-based programme designed especially for students with dyslexia and other learning difficulties.
The programme is based on Orton-Gillingham principles. Teaching is explicit, systematic and multisensory, helping students understand how reading and spelling work.
Every student begins at Level 1 so foundations are strong and learning gaps are not missed. We move forward at the student’s own pace as each new skill is mastered.
Personal
Every lesson is one-to-one and tailored to the individual student.
Consistent
Barton recommends two 45-minute sessions each week. Once-weekly tuition is also available.
Flexible
Lessons can be held at school, at Kirsty’s home-based office, at your home or online.
